Investing in massage therapy is an investment in your health and wellbeing.
There is still no penalty for rescheduling in 2024. We will negotiate comfort with being masked during your session. Payment will be easiest with an online service, either before or after your appointment. Let me know if you need me to send you a Square invoice.
Fees at my downtown Silver Spring office:
$100 for 60-minute massage (or distance healing)
$115 for 75-minute massage
$140 for 90-minute massage
BIPOC and LGBTQ folks: For those in need who are drawn to work with me, please ask me about my sliding scale. I am open to reduced-price, barter or very low-cost sessions (what you can afford to pay) for people who are truly in need of my work and committed to their own process of healing. If you are a member of an underserved community and/or are going through a time of need, please let me know.
PMTI Students: Please ask about discounts available for professional sessions with me at my Silver Spring office.
Outcalls
There is a $50 surcharge for outcalls to your home—for travel time plus table set-up/breakdown times.
If I will be driving more than half an hour to get to your home, the surcharge increases to $60.
On-Site Chair Massage
I own a massage chair, and enjoy working with groups of people to provide chair massage at offices and events. I've brought my chair to workplaces (usually offices), street fairs, schools (for teacher appreciation days), wellness events, and bridal showers, and I'm open to bringing my chair anywhere you can think of. Chair work is $25 for every 15 minutes that I work (I can typically work with 4-5 people per hour), and I typically do not work more than 2 or 2 1/2 hours without a break.
Canada Special
Canadians receive up to 10 free massages per year, as part of their public healthcare system, because it's cost-effective good preventative healthcare. Maybe some day we'll have benefits like this in Maryland. In the meantime, if you're interested in buying a whole year of 10 massages at once, I will be happy to charge you for the first 9 up front, and then give you the 10th one for free. I wish I could bill all of my clients to insurance, but until I can, one free massage a year is the best I can do for my regular clients. If you are not yet a regular client, it's probably a good idea for us to work together at least once or twice before you commit to 10 sessions, to make sure that we're a good client/practitioner fit. Commit to your health today, by committing to 10 massages in 2024! Package expires 16 months after date of purchase.
I love this Canadian model of every person getting 10 free massages a year, because it makes such good sense for people who are trying to create as much ease as possible, and to prevent as much dis-ease as possible, as an investment in a person's overall health. Can you tell that I wish we had assistance caring for ourselves like this in the U.S.? I have actually had 2 clients who had massages covered by insurance so far, and I hope that number increases as time goes on! I have had one client who was able to use her flexible spending account for massages, so that may be true for you, too. I can provide a receipt, with my license # (and any other info required), so just let me know if you need one.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service (or ahead, if you have purchased my Canada special); I accept cash and checks.
You can also pay me ahead of time, or on your smartphone at the office, on Venmo.com (an authorized delegate of PayPal). It's free to use a debit card or bank account with Venmo, and it just means that you need to sign up ahead of time and download the app, if you're going to use your phone. Here's the link to my Profile Page there: Elissa's Venmo Account. Another option is paypal.me/elissawebber, through PayPal. You don't need to have a PayPal account, but if you do have a PayPal account, it's free to pay with your bank account. Also free to pay me with your debit card are Zelle (443-285-2492 or elissa_dcpl@yahoo.com) or CashApp: https://cash.me/$ElissaWebber I can also send you a Square invoice if you let me know. If there's another online service that you prefer to use for payment, just let me know if I need to sign up for it ahead of time.
If you'd like to pay me before your session starts, please let me know. You may find it more relaxing to not have to take care of the payment after your session, and the majority of my clients pay me when the session is over. Either way works for me.
Tips
In a private practice tips are not expected. Rather than tipping, three great ways to express appreciation would be to book another session with me, write me a testimonial and/or refer other clients to me.
However, if some day you go to another therapist who works in a spa or a hotel please do tip them if they allow it. Often, they only get a fraction of the cost of the treatment and most rely on tips to get by.
